Teach on Dublo
Dublo is a structured spoken-Thai course. Our tutor marketplace connects its learners with independent Thai tutors for 50-minute online lessons — and unlike anywhere else, you see exactly where each student is in the course before the lesson starts: their unit, their words, what they struggled with. No lesson begins with "so, what shall we study?".
Create your profile: photo, a short bio, your specialties and your price per lesson. You set the price, and you can change it any time.
Paint your weekly availability once; it repeats automatically. Students book 50-minute lessons on the hour, in your timezone.
Every booking shows the student's place in the Dublo course. Lessons run in the built-in lesson room — no external links or setup.
Earnings are itemised per lesson — price, fees, your net — and paid via Stripe on the 25th of each month for everything taught the month before. No invoicing, no chasing payments.
You keep 70% of every lesson. Dublo's commission is 30% — it funds the course that brings you students, the marketing we pay for, and the booking, payment and lesson-room infrastructure you teach through. Payment processing (about 3% + $0.30 per lesson, charged by the payment provider) is deducted from the lesson price and shown as its own line on every lesson, never hidden inside the commission.
Your rate is your rate. You set what a lesson is worth to you, and your earnings are calculated from that figure alone. Students see a list price slightly above it — Dublo adds 15%, rounded up to the next whole dollar — and that margin is ours, never deducted from you. It pays for the reward we give subscribers who book lessons, which is why our own members keep coming back to book more.
Free trial lessons are optional. Tick the box and you appear first in the directory with a trial badge; a subscriber can then take one free 50-minute lesson with you, unpaid and commission-free on both sides, and everything after it is booked at your normal rate. Leave it unticked and nothing changes. Either way you can switch it on or off whenever you like.
These are the current rates; any change is announced at least 30 days ahead and never affects lessons already booked.
We publish this because you should be able to check it before you apply, not after. The directory is ordered by two things and nothing else: first, whether a tutor offers a free trial lesson — those tutors appear above the rest, because they carry a real cost and get visibility in return; second, how long the tutor has been approved on Dublo, earliest first, within each of those two groups.
Your price does not move you up. Ratings do not, lesson counts do not, and placement cannot be bought — there is no promoted slot and no advertising inside the directory. If we ever add a factor or change how much one counts, tutors are told at least 30 days ahead and this paragraph changes with it.
On a general tutoring site you compete with thousands of profiles and start every lesson by diagnosing the student. Dublo students arrive with a shared foundation — the same course, the same vocabulary, in a known order. You teach the conversation practice on top of it, which is the part tutors actually enjoy, and your profile is only ever shown to people learning Thai.
Native or near-native Thai speakers who can explain things patiently in English. Teaching certificates help but aren't required — a clear voice, reliable internet and a genuine interest in beginners matter more. We review every application by hand.
